KC Kids Connection
KC Kids Connections is the 501C3 charitable organization which was founded by the owners of Kids Country, Christine and Rick Burkholder. Since 2001, KC Kids Connections has donated more than $200,000 to families who are in the process of adopting a child, to children who are in need of specialized medical care and to both the Haven of Rest Harvest Home and Habitat for Humanity.(Learn More)
KC Kids Connections began by providing everything necessary to open an orphanage in Guatemala, known as the House of Hope. Since then, KC Kids Connections has helped purchase a prosthetic leg for Nadia, a Russian girl who had lost her leg in an accident along the train tracks in her town. She is now a high school student, excelling in school. We have also provided funding for six orphans to come home to their “forever families” in the United States. The Harvest Home at Haven of Rest provides housing for homeless women and children in the Akron area and we are proud to have teamed up with them to freshen, brighten and remodel the Teen and Pre-Teen rooms so that the children have a fun, safe, educational alternative to being out on the streets.(Learn More)
One of our projects was building a home with the Stark County Habitat for Humanity. This project included both fundraising and providing the weekend “hands” for the Habitat through the generosity of the employees of Kids Country who volunteered their time and energy to build a home for a local family in need.
